[an error occurred while processing this directive] Site2c: Questions & Answers

This is our latest addition to the Site2c website. We are currently compiling a list of common questions with clear answers. You may also find our Terminology page very interesting.

Q: Will my customers be able to see my website on all types of computers?
A: Any computer that carries a current internet browser program will be able to access your site. Site2c websites are tested on several types of computer, but the majority of your audience will be using Windows PCs or Apple Macintosh computers

Q: Can I have animation (moving images or text) and special effects on my website?
A: Yes, but some websites can try too hard. Moving images are usually called 'animated gifs' or 'flash' files and are quite different from each other. Animated gifs are usually larger files and therefore slower to download, but can be seen by any browser. Flash files are more efficient but they rely on the viewer having a 'Flash Player' installed on their computer.

The simple rule is don't use more than you need. Viewers today are not very patient for web pages to download and many serious information seekers find fancy effects very irritating (in effect you could be seen as a waster of their time and their phone bill). Moving images can be very eyecatching but consider carefully how your audience will perceive their inclusion.

Q: Can I have a shopping cart system or database on my website?
A: Yes. Please discuss your requirements as shopping carts and databases come in all shapes and sizes.
